On Thursday, November 21, 2013, Alishia Williams, a former Medical College of Georgia (now Georgia Regents University) employee, was sentenced in Richmond County Superior Court for falsifying timesheets.
While employed by Medical College of Georgia, Williams was contracted to work as the lead nurse at the Bainbridge Probation Substance Abuse Treatment Center in Decatur County, Ga. In that capacity, Williams submitted false timesheets which resulted in her being paid for hours she did not work.
Judge Michael N. Annis sentenced Williams to restitution in the amount of $12,684.97, five years probation, 250 hours of community service and a $5000 fine.
Assistant Attorney General Laura D. Pfister prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Georgia. The case was investigated by Special Agent Michael Walsingham of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
