Greenville Man Sentenced In Parking Lot Shooting

Posted: Updated:

PICKENS, S.C. - A Greenville man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for killing his former roommate in a church parking lot.

A Pickens County jury found 27-year-old Tavish Yeargin guilty of murder and grand larceny Wednesday.

Prosecutors say Yeargin shot and killed Sean Dinneen in the parking lot of Crosswell First Baptist Church in Pickens County on Sept. 17, 2011. Prosecutors say Yeargin took Dinneen's car after the shooting.

Yeargin did not testify during his three-day trial.

A jury of seven women and five men deliberated about 90 minutes before returning the verdicts.

Yeargin was arrested at a motel in Asheville, N.C., several days after the shooting.
