Affordable care Act and medicaid

Posted: Updated:

Nearly 60 million Americans are covered by medicaid, including children, pregnant women, seniors and those with disabilities.
The Affordable Health Care Act will keep those benefits in place.
However states establish and administer their own Medicaid programs.
They determine the type, amount, duration, and scope of services within federal guidelines....and on January 1st those services may expand.

Robert Harn, Benefit Coordinators, "Kim with medicaid it's expanding in many states as a result of the ACA. If you were not eligible for medicaid in 2013, I advise you to revisit for 2014, to check and se if you qualify under the new rules."
Medicaid was created by the Social Security Amendments of 1965 as an entitlement program to provide medical coverage for those who meet certain requirements.
