Cobb County Leaders say luring the Atlanta Braves away from the city is worth any potential financial risk.
As we've reported, the Braves plan to move to a brand new home, set to be built in Cobb County. That's about 10 miles north of the current stadium site.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed says a lot of things could go wrong with the deal and he wants the team to stay put.
"The bottom line is, I still want the Braves to be in Atlanta. But let me clarify something. When I said the deal wasn't done, I want to be clear. I wasn't saying that we were gonna take, we were gonna steal, we were gonna try to interfere in Cobb's deal. I'm not interested in doing that."
The financial structure of the stadium hasn't been approved yet by Cobb's financial commission.
