A Spartanburg woman makes some of the best biscuits around. In fact, Kelly Waldrop is a finalist in Bojangles' 2013 Master Biscuit Maker Challenge.
Waldrop is a team trainer at the Bojangles at 1793 East Main Street in Spartanburg. She's been there since May of 2008 and learned the biscuit-making process by completing in-depth training that all employees must receive every year.
In September, Waldrop out-baked her co-workers. Since then, she's also out-performed thousands of other Bojangles' employees from more than 550 company-owned and franchised locations across the Southeast.
"There is no room for error with tough competition and a very precise biscuit-making process, but our Spartanburg team is confident that Kelly will represent us well as a strong contender at the finals," said Bojangles' Regional Vice President Patrick Boykin.
Waldrop will compete in the ultimate Master Biscuit Maker Challenge on Tuesday, November 12 at Bojangles' test kitchen located at the company's Support Center in Charlotte. Each finalist will receive a finalist trophy and a $500 cash prize. The ultimate company winner will receive the Master Biscuit Maker trophy and a cash prize of $2,500.
