FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -

Cumberland County deputies are investigating after a woman was killed Tuesday night in a shooting in the Taylor's Creek Mobile Home Park off of U.S. Highway 301/South Eastern Blvd.

The shooting happened Nov. 5 in the 3000 block of Paddlefish Drive. When deputies arrived to the scene, they located a Felicia Williams Diggs, 34, lying in the front year suffering from a gunshot wound.

Diggs was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she later died as a result of her injuries.

Neighbor Ester McNeil said she heard two gunshots and heard Diggs' children yelling that their mother had been shot. McNeil said another neighbor believed Diggs was trying to get away from a man with a gun when she got in her car and was shot.

"I just prayed, Lord spare her life," McNeil said. "Give her another chance Lord if it's your will. That's all.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office at 910-323-1500.
