The second suspect in the deadly Barnwell County fire has been arrested.

A Barnwell Police Department spokesperson tells us, Matthew Bolen has been arrested in Anderson County. Arrangements for his transportation are currently being made.

One person has been arrested, and another person is being sought in a deadly Barnwell County fire that happened on Friday, November 1st.

On Friday, November 1st, at approximately 10:40 a.m., the Barnwell Fire Department responded to 111 Berry Street in Barnwell.

Firefighters found the body of a white female identified as 56-year-old Donna Dempsey. An autopsy was performed on Saturday, November 2nd, and the death was ruled as a homicide.

This case is being investigated by the Barnwell Police Department and the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

One person has now been arrested in connection to Dempsey's death. Michael Paul Buckmon, 36, of Barnwell has been arrested in connection with this case and charged with Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, Kidnapping, and Conspiracy. Buckmon is in law enforcement custody at this time.

Also being sought in connection with this case is 23-year-old Matthew Bolen, of Williston. He is described as being a white male, 6'2" tall, 185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Warrants are on file for Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, Kidnapping, and Conspiracy.

 WJBF News Channel 6 has learned a Barnwell County woman's death in a fire has been ruled a homicide.

Barnwell County Coroner Lloyd Ward tells WJBF News Channel 6, after further investigation into the death of 56-year-old Donna Dempsey, it has been determined that she died from Smoke Inhalation. Ward says, it was further determined that she had a blunt force injury to her head. Her death has been classified as a Homicide.

The Barnwell Police Department is the lead investigative agency and continues their investigation along with the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Autopsy results have been released in reference to a deadly Barnwell County fire that occurred on Friday.

Barnwell County Coroner Lloyd Ward says 56-year-old Donna Dempsey died from smoke inhalation.

Ward tells WJBF News Channel 6 the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

According to the Barnwell County Coroner's Office, a 56-year-old woman's body was found after a house fire Friday morning.

Barnwell County Coroner Lloyd Ward tells us, the body of Donna Dempsey, of 111 Berry Street in Barnwell, was discovered by the Barnwell Fire Department after responding to a fire at her residence.

The fire was reported at 10:45 a.m. Friday morning after being discovered by Dempsey's fiancé.

Barnwell Police Department officers responded to the fire, as well. Dempsey was pronounced dead at the scene by Ward.

South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Arson investigators were called and will assist in the investigation of the cause of the fire.

Demopsey's autopsy is scheduled for Saturday.
