Wicked Weather in Several U.S. States Dampens Halloween Fun

Much of the country is waking up to the aftermath of frightful Halloween storms.
ABC's Tahman Bradley has the latest.

Mother Nature delivered a trick,  frightening weather that put Halloween on
hold across the nation's midsection.
Thunderstorms lit up the skies across Central Texas.
Several areas were flooded.
Cars were no match for the rising waters.
Helicopters rescued hundreds.
South of Austin, emergency crews in boats went door to door.
They saved one family -- including their dog -- stuck on a roof.

"Wow. wow. Everything is, oh!"

Residents returned to their homes and found nothing left.

Anna Vallejo, Flood Victim:

"35 years I've been living in my house. Everything i have. Everything is
gone. Forever."

A possible tornado twisted in Bridge City, Texas knocking shingles off roof
tops, ripping trees from the ground, powerlines, anything in its path.

Resident, Bridge City Texas:
"It was very frightening. I was looking out the window and then I saw all
the garbage, just in swirls, they were going down the road."

In Terre Haute, Indiana, nearly a hundred people were rescued when a roof
collapsed.

In Butler County, Kansas, students were rescued from an overturned school
bus.

The monster storm hit more than 50-million people from Houston to New
Orleans.Chicago to Detroit.

The system is barreling towards the East Coast and parts of the upper
Midwest.

Accuweather forecaster:

"The main threat as we head through our friday here will be for soaking
rainfall, also some strong winds as this system heads into the northeast."
