The recall of dog treats produced by a Georgia company has been expanded. Bailey's Choice of Waleska is now including stores in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and Tennessee in the recall of its Teriyaki Chicken Treats. A routine testing by the Georgia Department of Agriculture last week discovered traces of salmonella. The company says the problem has been traced to a faulty thermostat and has been corrected.
The state's agricultural commissioner has issued a recall for dog treats made in Waleska, Georgia. Some packages of Bailey's Choice Dog Treats may be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the Georgia Department of Agriculture. The recall involves packages of chicken treats marked with lot number 132881 and an expiration date of February 2014. No illnesses have been reported and company owner Roger Thomas assures customers that his employees are working hard to find the problem. Customers who have purchased these treats are asked to discard them and apply for a refund at www.baileyschoicetreats.com.
