Thieves steal parts of Asheville Halloween display

Posted: Updated:
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -

Thieves have played a trick on an Asheville woman, stealing parts of her massive display of Halloween decorations.

Paula Beatty spends weeks each year putting up unique decorations outside her home. She says she woke up Tuesday morning to find that more than two dozen items were missing.

That includes several life-size skeletons, pumpkins and other large decorations.

Beatty filed a report with police. But she says that having the items returned so that neighborhood children can enjoy them is more important to her than anyone going to jail over it.
