FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -
A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Cedar Creek Road in Fayetteville Tuesday night.
Fayetteville police said officers responded to the 1900 block of Cedar Creek Road around 7:20 p.m. in reference to a traffic collision. Upon arrival, officers learned a pedestrian was fatally wounded in the collision, police said.
Police identified the victim as Hensa Pfeiffer, 70, of Morristown, N.J.
Pfeiffer was attempting to cross Cedar Creek Road and walked into the path of a 2004 Toyota that was being driven by 20-year-old Dianna Roy of Fayetteville, police said.
Police said Roy does not face any criminal charges regarding the collision at this time.
In May, the NCDOT installed a crosswalk in the same general area of Cedar Creek Road as the place where Pfeiffer was hit. Based on the location of the investigation scene Tuesday, it appeared Pfeiffer was not using the crosswalk when she was hit.
