Parents advised to manage kids' media use

If you think your children are spending too much time in front of a screen cell phone, TV, computer, you name it you're not alone.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is recommending parents manage their children's media use.

In a Pediatrics Journal article the doctors group advises parents to set mealtime and bedtime curfews for media devices and to keep the devices out of children's bedrooms.

The article cites a recent study that says children 8 to 10 spend nearly eight hours a day with different media for older kids and teens the average is more than 11 hours a day.
