Auguta's Golden Harvest Food Bank is one of 250 finalists in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program.
The program will award vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public.
Toyota's program will showcase five nonprofit organizations each day for 50 days at CarsForGood.com. Visitors to the page will receive two votes each day to select two separate winning organizations they feel are most deserving of new Toyota vehicles. Golden Harvest Food Bank will be one of the five organizations highlighted for voting on Monday, October 28th. Voting begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m.
Local residents are encouraged to support Golden Harvest Food Bank in the quest for a new Toyota Sienna. If Golden Harvest Food Bank is one of the top two organizations with the most votes and is awarded a vehicle, it will be used to serve the hungry in the 30 counties helped by Golden Harvest Food Bank.
The Sienna would deliver empty barrels for food drives, pick up food donations, transport Food Bank staff for visits to our 300 partner organizations, and assist with events that focus attention on the needs of the hungry in the CSRA.
Golden Harvest Food Bank serves an area of more than 14,000 square miles that has more than 220,000 people who are at risk of going hungry, 78,000 of whom are children. Our staff is constantly on the go in order to provide the best quality food to meet their needs. This new Toyota Sienna would be invaluable in making sure that Golden Harvest is able to continue to serve the hungry for years to come.
