Augusta, GA -

From unemployment, to disability to medicaid....many of you have questions about how the Affordable Care Act will affect you in those areas....Robert Harn from Benefit Coordinators has the answers to help you.

We begin with a question from Jerry, "I'm a 42year man who is Unemployed, single and have no income. Will I be able to get insurance and how much will it cost me?

Robert,  "yes you need a licensed, certified health broker to help you through the market place to see if you qualify for any medical subsidies. This will also help to see if you qualify for medicaid.

Our next question,
I get a small disability income, I'm on Medicare, my wife is unemployed, our one year old child is on medicaid, How do we get insurance for my wife without money to do so.

Robert, "it is a good thing that you and your child are covered, we can take your wife to the federal market place to see if she qualifies for any subsidies. They way that is determined is $11,500 is 100% of the federal poverty level, we would look at your household income. An individual making up to $44,000 a year could qualify for some type of subsidy. A family of four making up to $94,000 a year, could qualify for a possible subsidy.
