NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say two North Augusta women have pleaded guilty to fraud for receiving Social Security benefits by claiming they were blind. The U.S. attorney says

38-year-old Rita Marie Sherlock and 42-year-old Mary Teresa Sherlock obtained nearly $200,000 in Social Security disability payments since the mid-1990s.

PACOLET, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been charged with driving under the influence after authorities say he hit his 19-year-old daughter with his minivan. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says 49-year-old Robert Darryl Nipper of Pacolet was being held without bond yesterday on charges including DUI and aggravated assault and battery.
