If you're unemployed in the CSRA, today may be your lucky day. Some of those attending the job fair have been preparing for the past 24 hours through the help of a boot camp.
Held by Goodwill, the goal is to help folks understand how they can better prepare for a job interview. For many who are heading to today's job fair being held by Goodwill- this may be their first time receiving an on-the-spot interview. The boot camp taught them things like, how to create a better resume, how to best handle questions that are asked to you by prospective employers, and even how to dress. All tools that could make the difference between landing or *not* landing that coveted job.
"With so many job fairs in the area and so many people needing jobs, we wanted to make sure people had the opportunity to learn to be very well prepared to present themselves to employers,” said Kelly Taylor, Regional Staff Manager, Goodwill.
"I thought I knew a lot more than I did and just having these professionals go through the list with me, it showed me that I didn't know all that I thought I did,” said King Dred, Boot Camp Attendee. “I hoped to gain skills as far as how to communicate better, with people doing an interview and how to communicate better with people on the job."
