One resort in the Poconos is putting its pumpkins under the knife to make a glass of beer this season.
Jason Startari, of the Shawnee Craft Brewing Company, explains the process.
"Unlike a lot of breweries, we make our Pumpkin Saison, which is a Belgium-style farmhouse ale, out of whole pumpkins."
This is no easy task. Workers at Shawnee Craft Brewing Company pick the pumpkins in September, then a staff of three will cut each pumpkin by hand before they undergo fermentation.
The manager says the pumpkin beer is always in high demand.
The beer taps usually runs dry within a month.
