The South Carolina State Fair will no longer allow anyone under 18 to enter after 7 p.m. unless they are with a parent or guardian.
State Fair General Manager Gary Goodman said the change goes into effect Wednesday and was prompted after deputies found groups of youths causing trouble at the fair.
Goodman says the fair will also continue a police-suggested ban on camouflage clothing and other possible gang-related clothes and jewelry. Metal detectors are at each gate, and officers look at everyone who enters.
The State Fair has about 100 police officers patrolling when it is open, including a number of them in plain clothes.
