COLUMBUS, Ga. -

After more than 30 years, babies will once again be delivered at St. Francis hospital. They showed off their brand new 47,000 square foot  Women's Hospital at a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday morning.

Hundreds of people were in attendance to get a sneak peak of the new facility. The Women's Hospital will allow St. Francis to provide a wide range of services all from one location. Women can give birth, get a mammogram, see their physician or have blood work done.

CEO Robert Granger talked about what women should expect as patients of the new facility.

"First and foremost she should expect exceptional care and very personalized service. That's the most important thing. It isn't about the technology it's about the person and meeting their needs," said Granger.

This state of the art facility does have many unique technological features like couplet care. This allows the mother and child to get all of their treatments in the same room after the mother gives birth.
