Authorities in northeast Ohio say they have found more than 150 snakes, some poisonous, in a home.

News media in the Youngstown area report that a man faces charges including child endangering because a 12-year-old child lives in the home. WFMJ says authorities went to the home of 46-year-old Joseph McCollum to check on him because he had been bitten by a rattlesnake and didn't get proper treatment.

WFMJ reports that McCollum is an operator of The Boa Store, which sells Boa constrictors online.

Animal control officer Dave Nelson said the home in Struthers also had poisonous snakes include rattlers and cobras. The officer from the Mahoning County dog warden's office said he had dealt with dangerous snakes before, but not so many at once.

"The basement is filled with tub after tub of snakes," Nelson told The Vindicator newspaper. "I've never seen them in this type of mass quantities."

A wildlife rescue organization is working with authorities on what to do with the snakes.

A message was left Saturday for McCollum.
