Aquinas' Hill Talks Marquette Commitment (includes full interview)

AUGUSTA, GA (WJBF) - After a long, drawn out recruitment which saw as many as 18 Division I scholarship offers - Aquinas guard Ahmed Hill has finally found a home.

Following a weekend visit to Marquette for the school's Midnight Madness event, Hill decided he'd seen enough and verbally committed to the Golden Eagles on Saturday.

Hill grew up without a strong relationship with his father and sought a strong male figure he could depend on. Hey says he found one in Marquette coach Buzz Williams.

"Coach Buzz came down to Georgia nine times to see me," the rising senior said. "No other team could even compare to that. I just felt like I was home whenever I talked to him and whenever I visited."

Hill was undecided during his trip to Milwaukee but quickly made up his mind after spending time with what he called Marquette's "amazing fanbase". And then when it came time to head back to Augusta on Saturday, he shared a special moment with coach Williams.

"Right before I got in the car I saw coach Buzz," explained Hill. "I saw him and said 'Coach, I'm yours'. He put his head down and gave a big smile."

Williams hugged his new recruit and welcomed him to the Marquette family, telling Hill that he would be pushed harder than he ever had before.

Hill's response?

"I can't wait."
