Allendale County BOE Issues Statement On High School Principal's Reassignment

The Allendale County School Board of Education has issued a statement concerning the reassignment of Allendale-Faifax High School's principal and allegations of nepotism.

The Allendale County Schools Board of Education is committed to providing the very best quality educational environment and academic opportunities for all of our students. Accordingly, the Board of Trustees requires the Superintendent to carefully monitor the academic performance, educational growth, and general direction of each school in the District.  Due to the District's obligation to respond quickly to the academic and educational needs of our students, the Board expects the Superintendent to recommend necessary changes which will increase the opportunity for success of our students.

In that regard, the Allendale County Schools Board of Education has reviewed the rationale for the transfer and re-assignment of the Principal of Allendale-Fairfax High School. The Board believes that this change is in the best interest of our students. The Board of Trustees has approved and ratified the changes in the leadership at Allendale-Fairfax High School. An Interim Principal will be appointed within the next few days.

Parents and members of the public are always invited to attend the regular monthly Board of Education meetings which are held on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. At these meetings, parents or members of the public may comment on policy and programmatic issues during the Public Comments Section.       

However, in accordance with School Board Policy BEDH Public Participation at Meetings and by law, the Board cannot and will not permit in public session any expression of personal complaints about school personnel nor against any person connected with the school system.  Accordingly, the Board does not entertain comments on personnel matters during the public session.  Questions may be directed to the Board, but answers must be deferred pending consideration by the Board.
