Moms have a busy job but add in exercise and it can be even busier. Now a local group of moms are trying to showcase how you can do it all through a reality TV show. WJBF News Channel 6's Barclay Bishop explains.
The pilot was just shot a few weeks ago in Augusta, and if it takes off, the entire series that's being pitched would be shot there as well. Heather Abell is a mother of 6 and for years she's been involved in fitness competitions. A TV producer was so intrigued by her story that they shot a pilot with Abell and several other Augusta fitness moms just like her. And while the show would feature many different aspects of their lives...the main reason for it is to inspire others.
"Just to show that anything is possible and you can be a really good mom and also take care of yourself and your own well-being," said Heather Abell, stars in the pilot for a fitness mom reality TV show. "And I hope that this show will show everybody the different mothers and how they do it, how a home schooling mom can fit it in, how a mother of 6 can fit it in."
Heather says that although she hopes that pilot takes off, she still hopes to inspire every day women through 3 words she lives by: Believe. Begin. Become.
"You have to believe that you can accomplish something, it could be a fitness goal, it could be anything. And then you have to begin," said Abell. "Take small steps, set small goals, reach the small goals and you'll see that you can become and you can accomplish what you set out to do. But everybody has to start somewhere."
We can't reveal the network that the show is being pitched too, but we can tell you it's one that many of you are familiar with. We should know in the next few months, or sooner, whether or not this show really will become a reality.
