Durham man left in street after hit and run

DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened early Monday morning on Pettigrew Street near Bacon Street.

Officers were dispatched at 12:22 a.m. to a call about a man  in the middle of Pettigrew Street. When they arrived, they discovered Michael Lewis Boyd, 58, of Durham had been struck by a vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Investigators  believe that the suspect vehicle may be a bright white 2013 Ford vehicle. The vehicle possibly may be a Ford Escape, a Ford Focus or a Ford C-MAX, although investigators have not ruled out other models. The vehicle will be missing the passenger side mirror.
