Scott Dean is heading back to prison after spending the day in a Columbia County courtroom.
The former Columbia County Commissioner and his lawyers are hoping his child molestation conviction can be overturned...with new testimony Friday.
Friday, Dean's adopted daughter took the stand once again. This time she stated that she lied about the molestation that led to Dean's conviction.
Dean is hoping that the new evidence and admission will lead to his release from prison.
For the first time since she recanted her testimony in a letter, Silda Dean took the stand. She said she didn't want Dean to serve any more of his 20-year sentence in prison.
"Did Scott Dean ever touch you between the legs?" Scott Dean's lawyer, Pete Theodocion, asked Silda Dean. "No, he didn't," she answered. "Did he ever expose himself to you?" Theodocion asked. "No, he didn't," she answered. "Did he ever say he wanted to have sex with you?" Theodocion asked. "No," she answered. "Did Scott Dean ever do anything inappropriate towards you?" Theodocion asked. "No..." she answered.
Judge James Blanchard asked for papers that support either a new trial or allow for the courts to change Dean's sentence. The court stands in recess. No word on when Dean will return to court. Tonight on your ONLY local news at seven, hear from Scott's wife Renee along with his lawyer....Pete Theodocian.
