Augusta city leaders say it's time to judge City Administrator Fred Russell's job performance.
As we first told you Tuesday, the performance of Russell was discussed in a closed door legal session.
Several Augusta Commissioners have been critical of Russell because they were not told, beforehand, that downtown Augusta was going to be designated a slum area.
Commissioners took no action after the legal session, but some are now pushing to require Russell to undergo a regular job evaluation.
"You know, department heads need to be evaluated. I believe the Administrator does, as well, so we do know what our goals are. If there is any dissatisfaction that comes out in evaluation and you work to improve upon that, so it's more open communication," says Commissioner Mary Davis.
Davis plans to propose holding evaluations for the City Administrator at the next week's committee meetings.
