Summary Of Temporary Road Closures At Columbia County Railroad Crossings

Columbia County has been asked to provide the driving public a summary of the schedule for road closings at railroad crossings in the Harlem area.  The following is a list of the closings with estimated durations:

  • Old Louisville Road at the railroad crossing is currently closed to thru traffic; it will remain closed throughout this weekend and is scheduled to be re-opened Monday afternoon, September 30th
  • Old Augusta Highway at the railroad crossing is scheduled to be closed Monday morning, September 30th, and will remained closed until sometime Wednesday, October 2nd
  • Louisville Street northbound at the railroad crossing is scheduled to be closed Monday morning, September 30th, and will remain closed until sometime Wednesday, October 2nd
  • Bell Street northbound at the railroad crossing is scheduled to be closed Tuesday morning, October 1sat, and will remain closed until sometime Thursday, October 3Road
  • Boundary Street westbound at the railroad crossing is scheduled to be closed Tuesday morning, October 1st, and will remain closed until sometime Thursday, October 3rd
  • Sawdust Road at the railroad crossing is scheduled to be closed Tuesday morning, October 1st, and will remain closed until sometime Thursday, October 3rd

The crossings will be re-opened as soon as conditions warrant (to include "curing" of asphalt/concrete aprons). The work includes the replacement of rails, ties, and asphalt or concrete aprons up to and thru the crossings. Please plan to take an alternate route and allow additional time for commuting on these days.
