Former Waynesboro Deputy Police Chief's Appeal Of His Firing Denied

Posted: Updated:
Waynesboro, GA -

Waynesboro's former Deputy Police Chief, Roosevelt Lodge, will not get his job back. Well, that's at least for now...according to City Manager Jerry Coalson.

Lodge was fired nearly 2 weeks ago. According to his termination letter, he was fired for being insubordinate and absent on the job without approved leave.

Lodge says the allegations against him are false and says Waynesboro's Police Chief, Augustus Palmer III, had a personal vendetta against him.

Lodge appealed to the city, but since that was denied, he will now appeal in front of the Waynesboro City Council, where he'll have a hearing. That process could take another month.

Earlier this month, some City Council members tried to oust Palmer, as well, but Mayor Pauline W. Jenkins; vote saved his job.
