A state inmate who escaped from the Jenkins County Jail Wednesday night has now been captured.

We are told, the Jenkins County Sheriff's Office, along with the U.S. Marshals Service Southeastern Fugitive Task Force, and the Millen Police Department tracked down escaped fugitive Micheal Middleton.

Middleton was located at 223 Gay Street, in Millen, in the back bedroom of a house occupied by several family members. When law enforcement made entry into the house, Middleton surrendered to law enforcement without incident. He will be charged with Escape.

The search is on for an escaped inmate from Jenkins County.

We are told 24-year-old Michael Middleton, a state inmate, was in the Jenkins County Jail following a court appearence Wednesday, in which he pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery.

Officials say Middleton escaped Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. and he is considered tobe dangerous.

He is described as being a black male, 6' tall, weighing 200 pounds, with red hair (currently bald) and brown eyes. His last known address is 192 Coleman Lane, in Waynesboro.

Anyone with information on Middleton's whereabouts, or has any contact with him, is asked to contact your local law enforcement agency.
