ADOPT-A-PET: September 25, 2013

Karen Collins, with Augusta Animal Services, appeared with WJBF News Channel 6's Mary Morrison and Avis Lyle on Wednesday, September 25th.

During the segment, Karen Collins has Sissy, a 5-year-old tan and gray Schnauzer mix, Mary Morrison has Gypsy, a 4-year-old gray Scottish Terrier mix, and Avis Lyle has Kenzie, a 6-month-old brown and white Springer Spaniel mix.

All the pets have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on vaccinations.

Pet adoptions are also held at Petsmart each Saturday and sometimes at Fort Gordon at the PX. For more information, call 706-790-6836 or visit the shelter at 4164 Mack Lane. in south Augusta. off Tobacco Road.

Also, Karen Collins talked about the 2013 Family Fun Day that Augusta Animal Services will be hosting on Saturday, September 28th from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the shelter on Mack Lane.

There will be games, prizes, refereshments, music, dog training demonstrations, face painting, low cost microchipping, and moon bouncing.

The event is free to the public and a special adoption rate of $50 will be available during the event.
