ATLANTA, Ga. -

September 24,2013 is National Voter Registration Day. Voter Registration Day is a civic event bringing together thousands of organizations, volunteers and citizens across the nation to raise awareness of voter registration opportunities and register eligible voters in one coordinated effort.

Georgians have until October 7th to register to vote in order to take part in the November 5th general election.

"There is no better time to register to vote than National Voter Registration Day to ensure your voice will be heard at the polls," said Secretary of State Brian Kemp.

There are several methods of registering:

- Download, complete, and mail a voter registration application from http://sos.georgia.gov/elections/how_to_register.htm

- Contact your local county board of registrar's office or election office, public library, public assistance office, recruitment office, schools and other government offices for a mail-in registration form. A list can be found at http://sos.georgia.gov/cgi-bin/countyregistrarsindex.asp

- Registration is offered when you renew or apply for your driver's license at the Department of Driver Services.

- College students can obtain Georgia voter registration forms or the necessary forms to register in any state in the U.S. from their school's registrar's office or from the office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
