WJBF News Channel 6 has learned The Big Mo Drive-In, in Monetta, has been awarded a digital projector in Honda's Project Drive-In.
Honda sponsored a program to award digital projectors to drive-in theaters. The projectors cost around $70,000 each, which would mean that most drive-in theaters would not be able to stay open as movie studios convert from 35mm movies to digital movies.
Originally there were only going to be 5 projectors given away to the top 5 vote getters in the contest, but after the initial voting ended, Honda opened up the voting again for an additional week as they decided to give away 4 more projectors.
Thanks, CSRA, for voting! Your voices were heard in a big way.
Our Mike Miller is going to speak to the owners of The Big Mo and he will have a full story on our Monday evening newscasts.
