Coverage you can count starts in the Palmetto State with lottery fever.
Someone bought the winning Powerball ticket at Murphy USA.
That's a gas station on Augusta Road in Lexington.
Lexington is about 50 miles from Augusta and just about 30 miles from Aiken.
The winner hasn't come forward just yet but someone is nearly $400 million richer.
The odds of winning are 1 in 176 million but one of the 360 people who bought the tickets had a pretty good chance, because the winning ticket was sold right here.
The Murphy USA store in Lexington, SC is now $50,000 richer for selling the winning Powerball ticket on Wednesday.
"We had a few lines – our cashiers were trying to get people quickly. We had to convince people to buy the ticket. It was one of those busy long days," said store manager, Keith Wedmore.
Store manager Keith Wedmore spent the day meeting and greeting folks and has no plans of slowing down ticket sales.
"Right now we are counting down to sell the winning Mega ball ticket on Friday," said SC Education Lottery's Executive Director, Paula Beathea.
This is the 4th largest jackpot in Powerball history and the largest winning Powerball ticket ever sold in the Palmetto state.
"This person is a lucky person but education is the real winner today," said Beathea.
Taxes from the jackpot could pump in up to $15 million into the state's school system.
That would benefit local schools, libraries, buses and college scholarships.
"It is a great thing to go towards education. The number of people they help goes up and that's fantastic," said Wedmore.
This is not the first time a Murphy USA store has hit the jackpot.
4 years ago, another store in Columbia sold a $290 million ticket.
"The jackpots are being won at Murphy's and that's where you should buy your tickets," said Wedmore.
"This is a life changing event – there are a lot of 0's in the amount that this person or persons are going to get," said Beathea.
"Now the Powerball winner has 2 options – one is the cash out at $233 million all at once or gets it paid out over 29 years which is about 13 million a year. The winner has 180 days to claim the jackpot.
Now the Georgia-Carolina was the happening place to buy a lotto ticket. Besides the Powerball jackpot, another 1 million dollar ticket was purchased in Hampton South Carolina, and another million dollar ticket in Georgia.
