We now know the identities of two people who were killed in a motorcycle accident in Barnwell County Sunday night.
David Roger Lee, and his wife, Carolyn Lee, were riding a motorcycle on Reynolds Road when they hit a deer, according to police, near the intersction with Freedom Road. Officials say the couple was thrown from the motorcycle and both died of head trauma, even though they were wearing helmets.
While alcohol isn't suspected to be a factor in this crash, by law, a toxicology test will be performed.
Meanwhile, the surviving victim of a motorcycle crash that happened in Aiken County last week is in good condition at the hospital.
Kathy Favors was injured when the motorcycle she was riding on was hit by a truck that was trying to make a u-turn. Her husband, Daniel Favors, was killed in that accident.
Local motorcyclists say these kinds of accidents happen all too often, and they say they can easily be avoided.
They say the main causes of accidents are poor visibility and lack of respect. And, they say a lot of those problems can be solved, if drivers would just remember to watch out for motorcycles.
