Studio C at Television Park was packed Friday with volunteers helping to stuff "Saturday Sacks".
The grassroots program was started by Lincoln County Middle School guidance counselor Taylor Fulcher to help feed needy and hungry students in the county. About 450 of the 1,200 students don't know if they'll eat on the weekends when they leave school on Friday.
This program is helping to change that.
"We've gotten a lot of great feedback from people within different surrounding communities [that] have stepped up to the plate and said, 'you know, we want to help Lincoln County'," said Fulcher. "And, I'm just so grateful for that because we see so much support outside of Lincoln County and we see so much support in Lincoln County. And you know, that's what makes a difference. Other people know that they may not ever see anything from this but they're helping us."
