A crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle has resulted in a death in Aiken County.

The accident happened Thursday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. on Huber Clay Road, in Langley.

Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton tells us, 59-year-old Daniel F. Favors, of Beech Island, and his wife, Kathy Favors, were riding their 1993 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Huber Clay Road toward Pine Log Road when they were struck by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck being driven by Marshall White, Sr. of Bath.

Carlton says the crash happened near the Aiken County Landfill. According to witnesses, the Favors were riding their motorcycle White, who had pulled unto the right shoulder of the road, attempted a U-turn (because he missed the entrance to the landfill) and struck the motorcycle. White was accompanied by his wife.

The occupants and drivers of both vehicles were transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center in Augusta, and Mr. Favors was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Mrs. Favors was in critical but stable condition with non life-threatening injuries. The Whites' condition at this time is not known, however, Carlton says they appeared to have non life-threatening injuries.

This collision is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Aiken County Coroner's Office.
