Manatee coach's attorney seeks dismissal of charges

Posted: Updated:
MANATEE COUNTY, FL (WFLA) -

On Thursday, the attorney for former Manatee High assistant football coach Rod Frazier asked a judge to dismiss the charges against his client.

Frazier was an assistant football coach and parent liaison at Manatee High School. A few months ago, the state attorney's office issued 10 misdemeanor charges against him.

They include seven counts of battery, because of claims he allegedly touched students and fellow teachers inappropriately.

Frazier's attorney, Eddie Mulock, filed a motion this week to dismiss the charges against Frazier.

The Judge did not make a decision on Thursday.  Another hearing will be scheduled to discuss the motion pending depositions that both sides will be conducting.

Four Manatee county school administrators have also been charged with felonies in connection to the claims made against Frazier.

The State Attorney's office says the four administrators failed to report suspected child abuse.
