Suncoast Animal League brings dozens of rescued dogs to Pinellas

Posted: Updated:
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL -

As Suncoast Animal League volunteers were on the way from Tallahassee with 23 rescued dogs bringing them to Pinellas they learned about 66 more puppies and dogs saved from a mill in the panhandle.

The new rescues had to be picked up in 24 hours - the shelters holding them didn't have space and ability to take care of those pups.

The SAL volunteers left at 2 in the morning to drive to those shelters and bring the dogs to Pinellas County.

The newly rescued dogs are designer mixed breeds, Poodle-Shih Tzus and Poodle-Malteses. They are small and very matted, volunteers said.

They are working on finding temporary housing for the new dogs and providing them with the proper veterinary care. SAL staff and volunteers will try to make them available for adoption as soon as possible.

If you can help SAL in any way, you can contact them at 727-786-1330 or e-mail at info@suncoastanimalleague.org or foster@suncoastanimalleague.org
