CSU student arrested for campus explosion

Posted: Updated:
COLUMBUS, Ga. -

A Columbus State University student has been arrested after allegedly setting off an explosion on campus over the holiday weekend.

Chadbourn Boatner, 20, was arrested Saturday night on charges that include Possession of a Destructive Device and Weapons on School Grounds. Both are felonies.

Campus police officers report hearing a loud noise behind the "U" building. Upon arrival, officers found exploded two-liter bottle in the grass. Authorities say a search of Boatner's property produced "materials consistent with making a chemical pressure device."

No one was injured and no property was damaged.
