If you saw a bunch of super heroes running around Trinity-on-the-Hill United Methodist Church Monday morning, don't worry - we're not in any danger.
Action Ministries hosted the Action Dash-- a family friendly 5k run and walk. Lots of runners dressed like action heroes!
WJBF's Jennie Montgomery served as Grand Marshal of the Action Dash... and the official air-horn starter!
The Action Dash took place in five different cities in Georgia on Labor Day: Augusta, Athens, Atlanta, Gainesville and Rome.
Executive Director Laurie Cook says the purpose of the race is to raise awareness about the challenges of poverty in North Georgia.
"All the proceeds will actually go to action ministries - we serve people - a lot of homeless people, working poor, a lot of people transitioning out of homeless. We have a lot of different programs."
Dogs were even invited to come in costume... and a prize was given to the cutest SuperDog you've ever seen!
