An endowment presented to the Salvation Army of Augusta on Monday, August 26 will be a source of permanent financial support for The Salvation Army’s social service programs.
Andy and Connie Jones funded the endowment for the Center of Hope in honor of Gerald and Betty Jones.
It is a self-renewing resource that The Salvation Army holds in
perpetuity and does not spend. Endowed gifts are invested and it’s
the earnings from these investments that help fund our programs that changes lives.
The Center of Hope is located at 1384 Greene Street in Augusta, GA.
provided at this location include a Women & Children’s Shelter, Emergency
Shelter, daily Soup Line, and Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Program.
83 cents of every dollar donated to the Salvation Army goes directly to the individuals in the Greater Augusta Area in the form of hot meals, safe beds, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and other human needs.
