Aiken's Dixie Thunder lent a helping hand to Helping Hands, Saturday. Each year, motorcyclists from the Aiken County ABATE Club ride to help collect school supplies for Helping Hands, Inc. The organization is a home for abused and neglected children in Aiken County. Organizers say their donation of supplies, and more than $600, help brighten the futures of their residents.
"It is a tremendous help because what it does is makes sure that the children that live here have the supplies that their peers have and that they're able to get a good start in school and that they're able to succeed," said Carmen Landy, Helping Hands, Inc.
This was the 28th year the ABATE Club has pitched in.
