Upstate Man Says Insulation Job Left Incomplete

TAYLORS, S.C. -

With an easy installation and a promise to save you energy, Mike Rosero says he was hooked.  

“The way he explained was like, you're gonna save money on energy and all that,” said Mike. “And it was really good and sound good.”

The sales pitch was for E-Save, an aluminum insulation product that's placed over your current insulation.

Mike paid Home Energy, LLC nearly $2,800 to have it installed in his attic last November. And he was pleased with the work until a few months ago.

“I noticed that there was a lot of space that there wasn't done anything,” said Mike.

That space is just above his living room, without the aluminum sheeting.

“The sun hits the most in that part of the house,” said Mike. “And I think you know to get the good results I think they should finish the job.”

Mike called the company and says the CEO told him they’d send out the remaining material.

Several days later Mike says they called back, requesting pictures of the uncovered portion.

Mike emailed them in and called the company again.

“And he did say again the same thing what he said first that he will take care of it,” said Mike.

With Home Energy based in Florida, we spoke with CEO Mark Stitt over the phone Tuesday.

 “We dropped the ball. There was an area that was not covered,” said Stitt. “I will place the product in the hands of either a FedEx or UPS delivery service.”

Stitt also offered to pay for an independent contractor to install the rest of the product if Mike didn't want to wait for one of the company’s crews.

“I would be more than happy to take care of that responsibility,” said Stitt.

We followed up with the company again Thursday. We’re told the remaining product was sent to Mike’s house, via UPS, on Wednesday.

Mike says he’s finally feeling a little more optimistic.
