Dr. OZ is an actual life saver
Just in the last week -- he's come to the rescue of not one but two victims -- by springing into action at the right place and the right time.
ABC'S Paula Faris has all the details in today's medical report.
We've seen him put his skills to work on television.
But Tuesday--Doctor Mehmet Oz-- found himself in the middle of a medical drama on the busy streets of Manhattan.
This cell phone video shows Doctor Oz moments after he rushed to the scene of a car accident -- just steps away from his TV studio.
This taxi cab jumped the curb...hitting a young female British tourist on the sidewalk and severing her leg. Sian Green was on the first day of a vacation she'd been looking forward to for months, sitting on the sidewalk eating a hot dog - when the cab came out of nowhere.
David Justino is a plumber who rushed to the 23 year olds aid and made a tourniquet from his belt...before getting some unexpected help.
I was down there holding it…and I felt somebody nudge me and I was a little angry and I said 'I'm waiting for a doctor" and I heard "I'm Doctor Oz" and I went "you are doctor Oz" I said "what should I do?" and he said "you're doing it."
Dr. Oz later posted this photo with Justino on Facebook, praising him and first responders for their quick thinking.
But this isn't the first time the good doctor-- who still performs heart surgery -- has come to the rescue at a rather unusual time.
Just a few days ago--he helped a man who collapsed next to him during a 5k run...even visiting him in the hospital.
As for Sian Green - after reportedly losing her foot - she is recovering in the hospital thanks in large part to Doctor Oz.
