Repair work has been completed at the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam Park after flooding in July.
The park has now been reopened to the public. While some aesthetic work still remains to be completed, the park is now safe for visitors.
While the Savannah District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continues to release water from the J. Strom Thurmond Dam, officials believe the park is safe. The Baurle boat ramp continues to have minor flooding, but it is safe at this time.
The only area that remains closed from the flooding in July is Mims Road. Mims Road will be closed until September.
