Job numbers are out for the CSRA
But while one local county fared well, others took a hard hit.
In the past year, the CSRA has added more than 4,000 jobs.
But yet the unemployment rate is at 10.4% in the CSRA – that's 3 percentage points higher than the national average.
But ironically, just this week – Columbia County was listed as one of the best places in the country to find a job.
You'll remember just a few weeks back, Bass Pro Shops announced it would bring 300 jobs to Columbia County.
But, several other counties in the CSRA like Jefferson and Jenkins Counties have the state's highest unemployment rates.
So we wanted to find out why there's a stark difference with the job rate in the area?
County commissioners say part of Columbia County's success is thanks to its booming growth and quality of schools.
Now according to the Department of Labor, Georgia's unemployment rate is at 8.8%, and South Carolina's is at 8.1%.
Both are higher than the national unemployment rate which is at 7.4%.
