Thursday morning some Aiken County residents had a cup of Joe with cops in town. Coffee With A Cop was held at the McDonald's on Pine Log Road. Put on by the Aiken Department of Public Safety, this new program gives folks in the area a chance to talk about what's going on in their area. This is the second time they've held the hour-long event, and officials say so far it's been a huge success.
"It's been pretty good. What we're doing, it's just another program that gives us the opportunity to interact with the community," Sergeant Matt Braxton, of the Aiken Department of Public Safety. "It gives people from the community an opportunity to talk to us, and tell us different things that are going on within the community. They're giving us great feedback and it's just another tool to help us do our job just a little bit better."
The next Coffee With A Cop will be held September 26th from 8am - 9am at the Dunkin' Donuts on Richland Avenue West in Aiken.
