It's one of those incidents that can make people leery about taking their computer to the shop to have work done on it.
A University of Alabama art student has filed a federal court suit claiming nude photos of her ended up on the Internet after she had work done on her computer at Best Buy.
Attorneys for Nicole March tell AL.com she filed the invasion of privacy suit Friday in federal court in Birmingham.
The lawsuit names Best Buy Corporation and Geek Squad Technical Support as defendants. The suit says March was working at a Best Buy in Tuscaloosa and brought in her computer to have data retrieved from the hard drive. She says she later learned the photos were being circulated. The suit describes the nude shots were "professional and privately made" for artistic purposes and stored them on her computer for private and professional references.
Best Buy didn't comment, saying it doesn't speak about pending litigation.
