As the new school year gets underway for Richmond County, students at Westside High School will see some changes.
Construction has begun on the new stand alone gymnasium which will be located in the old student parking lot. That is expected to be completed by 2015. New science labs are also being constructed, those will be complete by Christmas 2013. In addition, classrooms have received new flooring and new school lockers have been installed.
Westside has a new principal this year. Scott McClintock, former Vice Principal at Westside, will now be overseeing the nearly 850 students at the school.
Those commuting in Richmond County should remember that delays can be expected as 150 - 200 buses hit the roads to pick up and drop off more than 22,000 students each day.
