Columbia, SC (WJBF) -- Former Williston-Elko standout Kendric Salley is hoping to make an impact for the Gamecocks in 2013. But he's still got some work to do after missing the 2012 season with an ACL injury.
Running Backs Coach Everett Sands says Salley is still "swimming a bit" right now. Salley is trying to make up for lost time after sitting out 2012. The redshirt freshman was listed #3 on the RB depth chart following a solid showing in the spring game. But a couple of freshmen are fighting him for that role including Shon Carson.
Sands says the depth chart at running back is still a work in progress. According to gamecockcentral.com, sophomore tailbacks Mike Davis and Brandon Wilds appear to be the frontrunners for the bulk of the carries.
